Picture took by Ut Nick. These frighten helped to define Vietnam War and to solidify opposition in the USA. The photograph was taken just a year before the struggle was abandoned. Yet there is nothing in it to define the event as an atrocity, even through the older children are clearly distressed. the soldier, for example, seem indifferent. If you were to wait for a moment or two, however you would see that the naked girl has been badly burned down her back by the napalm which has produced that curtain of smoke. |
